Pics for DOA Community...

Wednesday, February 25, 2009
I have decided to redo the first face up of my Espree (still no name yet.)
But I did get some requests for her with eyes in and wig on, so here she is...
Oh yeah and I added lashes too. ^_^

This past weekend I was busy sewing up a storm. For those of you that were requesting sample pics of my kimonos, here they are...

I have already run out of the fabric patterns pictured above, but for those who were interested in commissioning me, here are the fabrics I have in stock. I can go shopping for a specific color if you have something in mind, but finding a specific print is hit or miss. I will try and accommodate requests as best as I can.

Thanks everyone... and if you have any questions feel free to email me (FomiDolls@gmail.com) or PM me on DOA, my username is: Sherilyn

First BJD Blushing and Faceup

Thursday, February 19, 2009
After a couple of frustrating nights blushing and painting the hell out of my light tan Bobobie Espree (no name for her yet), I finally finished. Here are pics of what I did in the process and the results.

Dollie parts soaking in soapy water...
I wet sanded the areas that were discolored/rough (from the manufacturere) using the 3 different types of grit fine sponge sandpaper I got at the Volks USA store. Here are the parts drying overnight before being sealed...
After being sealed with Mr. Super Clear UV Cut... I had to rig the parts to dry... so tedious *sigh*

After drying, all the parts are ready to be blushed and painted.
Here is the finished body...
I did two layers of blushing with chalk pastels and sprayed MSC after each set. I also used some mica powders to add frost and sparkles to the look of the skin. It makes a nice bronzed effect because the MSC flattens it a bit.

Here is the result of my very first faceup!
OK... here are some better pictures...

First Floating Head

Tuesday, February 17, 2009
Well, looks like the mail-lady is getting pretty familiar with my apartment now because I got another anticipated package today! WooooooWhooooo!
I bought a Fairyland WS Shushu head from INUSUSHI on Den of Angels. She was so cool to let me buy her for less than her initial asking price. I am so happy with my first Shushu. I've already sealed her with MSC and she's awaiting a faceup. She does look like an alien right now tho... LOL

My first BJD home is a BBB Light Tan Espree...

Thursday, February 12, 2009
Here is the homecoming of my beautiful light tan Espree.

My initial reactions
The good...
The mold looks even better in person than in pictures.
The light tan is a great color, very unique.
DenverDoll did great customer service, answered all my questions and shipped the same day I placed my order. I place my order on Tuesday and it arrived at my place today (Thursday). Super fast!

The bad...
She has whitening/discoloration/scratches from sanding of the seams (done by Bobobie). It's not really visible in these pics but definately noticeable in person. Some roughness is under the face-up, so I'll have to remove it and do it over.
She is strung too tight in my opinion (cuz her belly keeps popping out and her head keeps tilting just lying down.) LOL

Overall a little disappointed, but very happy she is home. I guess I'll use the time fixing her to bond with her. Sorry for the baldness and nekidness... gonna buy clothes and wig at the Volks USA store this weekend!

Today is a day for the HISTORY books!

Barack Obama was inaugurated today as the 44th President of the United States.

I voted for the first time last year, and I voted for him because I believe that he can make the most change. I am proud to be an American citizen today because he is proof that dreams can be achieved and that there is still hope for this country that is in such a sad state.

I pray that he will lead us to see a better economy and that he brings home all of those soldiers overseas fighting for us. The weight of the world is on this man's shoulders and the least we can do is offer him our support.
